The Fifth-Annual Show Must Go On!

Rockin’ For Autism will happen, no matter what. That’s the loud-and-clear message from concert organizers, announcing the signature fundraiser for autism awareness month will now be broadcast online next Saturday, April 25, from 6-9 p.m. As usual, Rockin’ for Autism promises a fun-filled event of live music, and is hoping that many will open their hearts and wallets to support the cause. Once again, money raised will support the terrific work of Autism New Jersey. There will also be a donation to the Front Line Appreciation Group, Scotch Plains-Fanwood chapter to support emergency responders.

“We at Rockin’ for Autism are sending our support and love to the men and women on the front lines of the pandemic,” explained Jeff Banks, co-chair of the event. “We are offering a great lineup of entertainment when we all need it the most. There’s no obligation to donate, especially if you can’t at the moment, but all proceeds are going to vital charities that serve our community.”

You can watch the music festival on the Rockin’ for Autism Facebook Live page, www.rockin4autism.org,  Comcast Channel 35 or Verizon FIOS Channel 34. Donations can be made to Rockin’ for Autism / Autism NJ at

Since the festival began, more than $72,000 has been raised for autism research. Rockin’ For Autism is the brainchild of 18-year-old Fanwood resident Mallory Banks, an Autism Awareness Junior Ambassador for the past nine years. In 2018 and 2019, Rockin’ For Autism was named the top autism awareness fundraiser for Autism New Jersey.

“As a senior at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, I’m sad that we can’t do my last Rockin’ for Autism at LaGrande Park in Fanwood, where we have always held it,” Mallory said. “But the fact that we can at least do something virtually means a lot to me.”
