For the seventh year in a row, Fanwood Recreation will host our community’s favorite running event… and this year, all runners are invited to reveal their true selves and come dressed as their favorite superhero! The Fanwood 5K Super Hero Run & Family Fun Run returns on Sunday, Oct. 16, at La Grande Park in Fanwood. The 5K Super Hero Run will begin at 9:30 a.m. following the one-mile Family Fun Run at 9 a.m. in La Grande Park, and, of course, all children are also welcome to dress up as their favorite costumed characters. Plus, all participating Fun Run children will receive a superhero cape and mask, and will automatically be entered in a raffle for gift cards. Free refreshments will await all finishers.
Pre-registered runners who want to avoid the lines the morning of the 5K will be able to pick up their numbers and t-shirts the day before, from 4–5:30 p.m. at the La Grande Park building.
The entry fee for the 5K is $20 for USATF members, $25 for non-members and $30 after Oct. 13. The entry fee for the Family Fun Run is $10 with a t-shirt and $5 without. The race is fully sanctioned by the United States of America Track and Field (USATF) and is part of the New Jersey Grand Prix as a 500 point race. You can register for the race here.
