An extreme heat warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for today with dangerously hot conditions making it feel like 105 degrees. The extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, particularly for those working or taking part in outdoor activities. The extreme high temperatures may continue through Saturday evening with little overnight relief expected. This level of heat can be deadly without adequate cooling and hydration. It is recommended to wear light and loose fitting clothing and to drink plenty of water in order to stay hydrated. Seniors and those with chronic health issues are at increased risk from heat-related illnesses.
