In observance of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Moms Demand Action Union County will hold a Wear Orange event on Thursday, June 2. The Event has been moved from the Fanwood Borough Hall Lawn to Forest Road Park. The event will be cohosted by Mayor Colleen Mahr.
“I am so grateful that these smart people are working so hard on this issue, I’ve loved working with them. 90 people die each day in America due to gun violence. It’s our responsibility to try to change this sad fact and bring some common sense to the issue”, said Mayor Colleen Mahr.
Special guests include Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park & Rev. Dr. Tracy Sprowls of First Unitarian Society of Plainfield. Similar events will take place across the state and country, as concerned citizens wear orange to show their support for common sense solutions that will curb gun violence.
In case of rain, the event will be held at Forest Road Park Building in Fanwood. This event is best suited ages 15+. Attendees are encouraged to wear orange.
