To celebrate Halloween, Jersey Central Theatre Company will be presenting a staged reading of a spooky fun new play, THE SECRET OF THE MUMMY’S TOMB, on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1st, 7:30 PM, at the Patricia M. Kuran Cultural Arts Center (The Carriage House) next to Fanwood Borough Hall.

“The Secret of the Mummy’s Tomb,” is written by Kai Cofer, and is based on “Dracula” author Bram Stoker’s “The Jewel of the Seven Stars.”

In a crumbling London vaudeville theater, a silent film awakens a tale of ancient curses, astral possession, and theatrical mayhem. When Egyptologist Dr. Trelawny attempts to resurrect Queen Tera using a severed hand, a ruby ring, and the alignment of the seven stars, chaos erupts. With a rakish solicitor, a globe-trotting uncle, and a mummy on the loose, this horror-comedy blends gothic thrills with witty repartee in a rollicking tribute to classic stagecraft and the eternal power of love. It’s fun for ages 13 and up!

The professional cast features members of Actors’ Equity Association and includes Dino Curia, Roxann Kraemer, Carolyne Leys, Jason Szamreta, and Fanwood native Ken Schwarz.
