MAYOR AND COUNCIL
MEETING NOTICE

PLEASE BE ADVISED in compliance with the provisions of the “Open Public Meetings Act” of the State of New Jersey, N.J.S.A. 10:4 et seq. and N.J.S.A. 40:45A-1, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Fanwood, County of Union, State of New Jersey, advises that the 2021 Annual Reorganization Meeting will be held on January 4, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. by electronic, telephonic communications, videotelephony and/or teleconference means. The Borough hereby notifies the public that to protect the health, safety and welfare of our citizens while ensuring the continued functioning of government, only a limited number of people may be physically present at the meeting. Elected Officials, professionals, and employees may participate virtually.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Governing Body of a municipality in which any of the members of the governing body are elected for terms commencing January 1st must fix the date and time of its annual organization or reorganization meeting to be held during the first week in January. Therefore, the purpose of this meeting is to conduct the business of reorganizing the municipal government of the Borough of Fanwood for 2021. The agenda items may include but are not limited to: Administering the Oath of Office, election of Council President, Remarks by the Mayor and Council, Presentations, Various Communications, Reports, Public Comments, Approval of Resolutions, Formal action shall be taken.  The Governing Body reserves the right to enter closed executive session, per N.J.S.A. 10:4-12. The agenda will be published on the official Borough of Fanwood website (www.fanwoodnj.org). 

The meeting will be conducted by means of electronic, telephonic communications, and/or video telephone-teleconference. All meetings will be broadcast on the local access television within 24 hours following conclusion. Meetings are also live broadcast on https://www.facebook.com/fanwoodnewjersey/. Live streams are available to viewers with or without a Facebook account. Viewers without a Facebook account can access the stream directly using the livestream URL.  Elected Officials, professionals, and employees may participate in the meeting virtually.

Public comments and questions may be submitted by electronic mail to the following address: gotomeeting@fanwoodnj.org. Members of the public must state their full name and address for the record. The agenda will be published on the official Borough of Fanwood website (www.fanwoodnj.org).

CONNECTING TO ZOOM
  1. Option 1: From your email click on the link provided above.
  2. Option 2a: If you are using a laptop please write down the “Meeting ID” and Password” provided above.
    1. Then go to the zoom website and in the upper right-hand corner select “join a meeting” you’ll then be prompted to put in the meeting ID. Once the meeting ID has been accepted you’ll be prompted to allow Zoom to open the desktop app on your computer. Here you’ll select “allow” and it will open up the app. It should be about here that you are prompted to choose the way that your name is displayed and also enter in the password.
  3. Option 2b: If you are using an iPad or tablet device please write down the “meeting ID” and “password” provided above.
    1. Open the zoom app on your device and select the option that says “join a meeting,” once you’ve selected that you’ll need to put the meeting ID in. Once the meeting ID has been accepted you’ll be prompted to choose your display name and input the password for the meeting.
  4. Option 3: I’ve attached a word document to this email that also contains the meeting information that is provided above. I suggest opening this document and copying and pasting the zoom link into your web browser. For iPad users that would be the safari app.
  5. Option 4: Use the dial-in information provided above. I’d like for this to be the last resort so, please try and access the meeting by one of the options provided above before choosing this.
