We had a an awesome Fanwood Ladies Night Out on Thursday, June 2. Hundreds of women came out to shop the great specials offered by our local businesses, enjoy food, drink and music and win amazing prizes at the end-of-night raffle!

I would like to first thank our new event manager, Dawn Mackey, who not only took on the huge task of bringing this event back this year but enhanced it and made it even better! Marklyn Johnson as MC and the foodie crawl were especially great additions to the night. Thank you Dawn!

We always have a core group of Fanwood women forming a committee for this event and this year was no exception. A very special thank you to Sara Carpien for her many hours of work putting the entire ad book together and to Michelle Cannizzaro and Alexandra Yacullo for making the fantastic raffle basket. They were thrown into the fire for their first year and rose to the task. Thank you to our Chamber rep Jeni Di Virgilio and to Helen Ling & Jill Jackson-Jones who, every year commit to being on the committee and providing critical support, not to mention the annual culinary delight of peach cobbler and pulled pork samplers from Jill and Savory Selections catering!

Thank you also to The Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce for being our co-sponsor each and every year. I would like to add a special thank you to them and along with Elite Properties for the significant contribution of our huge party tent.

Thank you to Clint & the public works staff for many elements of support and especially to Austin who stayed the entire evening to provide whatever was necessary and the end-of-event breakdown! To Pat Hoynes, Liz Jeffery and Tom Kranz who helped throughout and to Fanwood PD for a night of support.

Of course, the event would not be possible without our amazing Fanwood Businesses and many sponsors. Thanks to Fanwood Larder, Nick’s Pizza and Fabio’s for the sampling trays enjoyed by all. Our community has the most incredibly dedicated and positive businesses ever!

And finally, a heartfelt thank you to all of the ladies who ignored the weather forecast and came out to enjoy the night in downtown Fanwood. That is what makes the event a success!

So, mark your calendar now for Thursday, June 1, 2023. It will be a another great time for sure.
