(Fanwood, NJ) – Mayor Colleen Mahr held her first “Coffee with the Mayor” of 2026 in the community room of the Fanwood Memorial Library. The event was held between 11:30 am and 1 pm and attracted about a dozen residents, who sat in chairs in a circle around the Mayor, Councilman Jeff Banks, and Councilwoman Patricia Walsh.

The Mayor spoke on a number of issues ranging from a new shared services agreement with Scotch Plains for tax collection serves, the affordable housing process in Fanwood, new businesses coming to town, the relocation of Fabio’s restaurant to the former Sheelen’s Crossing site; Carano Square, the former location of the A&P Supermarket, which the Mayor said will include a restaurant and a new, much larger retail space for Fanwood Liquors. A resident asked for the Borough to address speeding along Montrose Avenue. The Mayor also was asked about parking for the Fanwood Post Office on South Avenue.
