Almost 200 people lined up for free COVID-19 vaccinations Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021, at Forest Road Park in Fanwood. With word that the Omicron variant is in New Jersey and highly transmissible, the Westfield Regional Health Department sponsored this vaccine drive for BOOST NJ Day. All three vaccines, first, second and third shots, were available on a walk-in basis. Most folks got boosters from the public health nurses and volunteers who were on hand.

COVID cases have been on the rise in Fanwood during the month of December, even though we have a high rate of vaccination. With holiday gatherings on the rise during this time of year, the CDC has advice for doing so safely here. The best advice from all the experts is to get vaccinated and get boosted!
