The 23rd annual Fanny Wood Day took place on Sunday, September 16 and attracted thousands of residents and visitors to Fanwood. The downtown streets lined with vendors, food trucks, a kids zone, community organizations and more! The main stage hosted a variety of contests and entertainment throughout the day.

Residents were treated to an incredible live performance by the Bryan Hansen Band and a special meet-and-greet with Fanwood’s own legendary boxer Gerry Cooney! Gerry spent the day taking photos, signing autographs and sharing stories of his boxing days. We thank you Gerry for stopping by!

Among the popular activities were the kids scavenger hunt, a Zumba workout sponsored by the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, bagel toss contest sponsored by Fanwood Bagels, ice cream-eating contests outside Rocko’s Ice Cream, a water balloon toss sponsored by Lightbridge Academy, the Debbi Zakarin Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, a pizza-eating contest sponsored by Nick’s Pizza and a spaghetti and meatball eating contest sponsored by Fabio’s Bistro.

A special thank you to the Fanny Wood Day committee for putting together yet another successful event and to all of the volunteers who helped make this day possible! Thank you to Bruce Zarakin who served as the voice of Fanny Wood Day emcee and kept everyone engaged all afternoon.
