In light of the Capital One data breach there is the potential of a new phone scam for credit card information.
Do not fall prey to anyone pretending to be Capital One Bank. The caller will say they are from your credit card company and they will proceed to ask you to confirm or share personal information such as your credit card number, credit card security code, social security number or mother’s maiden name.
Do not give out your personal information on calls you didn’t initiate no matter how legitimate the call may seem. Scammers can even override your caller ID and have your creditors name show up. Only trust calls that you initiate.
