The promised three-way stop signs at Sheelen’s Crossing and North Avenue went into effect on July 3rd. Along with the enhanced crosswalk markings, lane-narrowing bump-outs and a speed limit reduction to 25 mph, all of the design elements are in place to make the intersection safer for pedestrians. Lighted warning signs have also been installed to alert North Avenue drivers to the new stop signs.
Drivers stopping at the intersection must yield to any driver who was there before them. If cars stop at the intersection at the same time, you must yield to the driver to your right.
