On Sunday, December 4 Gaylon McGowan will be donating his painting of The Fanwood Tie and Timber Co. Sawmill to the Fanwood Museum at the Fanwood Train Station. Mr. McGowan, a former employee of the Company, will donate his painting and share a few memories of this long-time Fanwood business that occupied the space on South Avenue in the area where Mara’s Café and the surrounding stores are now.
The presentation and reception will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will precede the Fanwood Holiday Celebration. Following the tradition of the past few years, the Museum will be open for the event and children attending the Holiday Celebration are invited to the Museum to make a Victorian Christmas ornament to take home.
