It was a beautiful fall afternoon for Fanwood residents and visitors to enjoy food, music, shopping, contests, and more at Fanny Wood Day on Sunday, Sept. 18 in downtown Fanwood.
Winners of the Fanwood Photography Contest were announced at the event. Congratulations to winner Al Kruper, who took both first and third; and also Brian Cook, who took second! Highlights included the Pet Parade, which featured Fanwood’s finest furry residents sporting their best attire. The pizza, ice cream and cream pie-eating contests were a big success, as was the scavenger hunt. Briana McGowan won the high school aged ice cream-eating contest for the 8th consecutive year.
Other attractions included rides, games, the YMCA’s recreation area, and a vintage car show, dedicated to the memory of the much beloved classic car enthusiast, Don Wussler. Fanwood’s Rescue Squad and Fire Department was also on site offering tours of their vehicles. Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy this great, community event and a special thanks to the Fanny Wood Day Planning Committee.
