For the first time since 1999, the Borough of Fanwood is placing a voter question on the November ballot. The question seeks approval from voters for an Open Space Tax to help pay for improvements to our parks, recreation, and nature centers, and to contemplate open-space, green space, and conservation projects.
The tax levy would be $.01 per $100 of assessed property value, or an additional yearly tax of about $8 to $11 dollars per household. The full text of the resolution, approved at the August 15 Council meeting, is below. It includes the actual ballot question and interpretive statement as voters will see it on November 8th.
Mayor Mahr and the Fanwood Borough Council urge you to vote YES to support our recreation and environmental programs.
