A Message from Mayor Mahr

Tonight, I invite all Fanwood households to leave an extra light on to show our support and gratitude for medical teams, first responders, mail and delivery workers, pharmacy grocery, and restaurant workers, teachers and child care workers, government employees, gas station attendants and all the other essential service workers who serve us each and every day during this outbreak.

The state is reporting another 3,482 positive COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number in NJ to 34,505.

We now have a total of 3,216 confirmed cases in Union County, with 15 confirmed cases within the Borough of Fanwood since March 20. The state has stressed that the numbers will continue to rise in part due to the increasing number of testing sites that are now available and in part due to the delay in testing results, some of which take a week to return.

The link below my message provides a live tracker of the positive and negative testing results throughout the state of New Jersey. Please utilize this helpful resource provided to us by the state.

Finally, I’d like to remind those who are struggling to reach out for help. These are confusing, stressful times but you are not alone in your experiences. I urge you to connect with friends, family, and neighbors. Any individual struggling to meet their daily needs, or access required resources, should email me directly at mayor@fanwoodnj.org.

– Mayor Colleen Mahr
