Fanwood’s summer road work is finishing up today and Friday with milling and paving. Road work has been scheduled so as to not interfere with the opening of schools this Wednesday and Thursday. Schools are closed Friday and Monday for the Labor Day weekend. This year the borough was able to take advantage of two New Jersey Department of Transportation grants. One was to pave Watson Road between North Martine Avenue, Russell Road, and Graybar Terrace. The second was to pave Waldon Road and Kyte Place. Improvements included curb restoration, handicap ramps, and minor drainage work. Repairs were also made to sidewalks that had been damaged by trees.
