Patricia Celardo, a 15-year employee of the Borough of Fanwood, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer to replace Fred Tomkins who is retiring.
Ms. Celardo is currently the Borough’s Bookkeeper, Assistant Treasurer and Deputy Registrar. She earned her degree in finance from Wagner College and her certification as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer at Rutgers University. She is a Fanwood resident and has two grown children.
Ms. Celardo will succeed Fred Tomkins, who has been CFO for the past 18 years.
“I am very grateful to have had Fred for 18 years, as long as I’ve been mayor,” said Mayor Mahr. “He has helped navigate Fanwood through its most transformative period of redevelopment while always understanding that at our core, we are a small, suburban community. He is a consummate professional who has set an example for the next generation of public officials, including Tricia. She will be an outstanding CFO for us. I’m so happy she’ll be our guiding financial force going forward.”
Ms. Celardo begins her new job on October 1, 2021.
