Governor Murphy’s recent Executive Order 230 governs and revises the limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings in a variety of situations.  This order takes effect on the morning of Friday, March 19, 2021.  Below you will find a summary of the new guidelines
  • Indoor Gatherings/Non Religious – These are limited to 25 persons.  The Order states that a private residence is considered one room.
  • Indoor Gatherings/Religious Services or Celebrations including Weddings/Funerals/Memorial Services– limited to 50% of the capacity of the room where it takes place never smaller than 25 persons.
  • Entertainment Venues/PACs/Concerts – 35% of the maximum capacity of the room, never larger than 150 persons maintaining safe distancing guidelines.
  • Outdoor Gatherings/Non religious – 50 persons or fewer unless it is a religious service or celebration, funeral or memorial service, political activity, addiction support group, or government function.
  • Restaurants/Cafeterias/Dining Establishments – Indoor capacity at 50% of capacity excluding staff, maintaining safe distancing guidelines.
  • Personal Care/Health Club Businesses – Indoor Capacity at 50% of capacity excluding staff. Utilizing safe distancing practices.
  • Other Recreational/Casinos – Indoor Capacity is limited to 50% capacity. Utilizing safe distancing practices.
  • Collegiate Athletics – Indoor Capacity excluding players, coaches, staff and 2 parents per athlete are limited to 25 persons and may not exceed 35% of the room or more than 150 persons.
  • Collegiate Athletics – Outdoors are subject to a limit of 50 persons excluding players, coaches, staff and other necessary personnel along with 2 parents per athlete.
  • Professional Athletics – Indoor Capacity excluding coaches, staff and other necessary personnel are limited to 25 persons and may not exceed 35% of the room or more than 150 persons.
  • Professional Athletics – Outdoors are subject to a limit of 50 persons excluding players, coaches and other staff and personnel.
  • Professional Athletics with arenas of a capacity of 5,000 or more the 10% capacity rule still applies excluding staff, coaches and other necessary personnel.
  • Other Athletic Non-Collegiate/Non-Professional – Indoor limit is set at 25 persons, however if the number of individuals who are necessary for the practice or competition is greater, than it may proceed provided as long as no individual present is unnecessary for the practice or competition. Outdoors are limited to 50 persons with the same restrictions and caveats.
