Each year millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental illness. During May, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) joins the national movement to raise awareness around the 2024 theme Take the Moment. In May of 2021, the Borough Council proclaimed Fanwood a Stigma-Free Zone, ensuring those seeking and obtaining treatment or counseling for mental health issues can do so without being stigmatized, and that mental health resources are available. Fanwood joins many New Jersey communities embracing the Stigma-Free campaign.
