The project to rebuild the Fanwood Memorial Library is moving forward. The Borough Council and Planning Board signed off on the new design in April of 2022.

Library Director Dan Weiss presents plans to Council

The library will begin moving out of its current location in mid-September. Library services will move temporarily into the historic train station on North Avenue as the current library building is demolished and construction on the new facility begins.

The $7 million project is being half paid for by a state grant and half by the Borough. The project will more than double the size of the current facility. It will open the library to people of all ages and abilities, will provide more flexibility and better spaces, will support current and emerging technology, and create a building that will be a sustainable community asset.
