The threat of rain did not deter hundreds of shoppers from turning out for the 11th annual Fanwood Ladies Night Out in downtown Fanwood on Thursday, June 6th. Local merchants and vendors from around the area set up shop in and around the South Avenue plaza between Fanwood Crossing I and II. The event is sponsored by the Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

South Avenue businesses Enchantments, Fanwood Eye Care, and Monk’s Show Room offered food, wine and specials. The Fanwood Pharmacy (at its new location on South Martine), Nick’s Pizza, and Rocko’s Ice Cream were also open for business.

Dance lessons in the plaza by Dance at Le Pari of Fanwood were also offered. A tricky tray auction and raffle featured prizes donated by local businesses. Marklyn “MisterDirect” Johnson was the emcee for the evening.

Mayor Colleen Mahr, Borough Councilwomen Patricia Walsh and Gina Berry, Councilman Jeff Banks and Director of Development Liz Jeffery attended the event.
