With leaf season approaching, residents are reminded to follow these important curbside leaf placement tips from the Department of Public Works:

  • Loose leaves should be placed curbside in neat windrows approximately one foot (1′) away from the curb and no closer than 10′ of a drainage inlet to allow for positive drainage.
  • Please do not park your vehicles within 20′ of the leaf piles to allow sufficient space for the pickup operations.
  • Brush and branches are not permitted in the leaf piles due to disposal requirements at the Union County Conservation Center.  Leaf piles containing these materials will not be picked up and will be left behind.

Residents are also reminded of the tentative Fall Leaf Pickup schedule below:

NE & NW Quadrants week of:  10/19, 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, 12/7

SE & SW Quadrants week of:  10/19, 11/2, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7

Please note that these dates are tentative and are subject to change due to weather conditions and leaf quantities available for pickup curbside.  In addition, the Department of Public Works may provide additional pickups within the school drop off areas or in other areas due to Borough events that may require full access to the roadways.

*It is the resident’s responsibility to notify their landscapers of the rules, restrictions and regulations for the leaf pickup program.
