Fanwood’s annual Halloween Parade and Costume Contest brought families from across the region to march through the downtown and LaGrande Park in fantastic costumes Tuesday, October 31st.

Led by the SPF High School Marching Band, the large crowd made its way from the North Avenue train station down Martine Avenue to Marion Avenue and LaGrande Park for the costume contest. Members of the Fanwood Council masqueraded as judges and handed out prize tickets to the costumed participants. The contest, divided by age group, was a production of the Fanwood Recreation Commission featuring Commissioner Bruce Zakarin as the host and other commissioners handing out prizes, donuts and cider.

Mayor Colleen Mahr assisted in handing out prizes and greeted many of the participants. Council members Jeff Banks, Anthony Carter, Gina Berry and Trisha Walsh acted as judges.
