One hundred new or renewing members by July 4th. This is the goal set by the Friends of Fanwood Memorial Library Membership Committee for 2018.

Progress in the Growing Friends campaign will be indicated on the 9-foot-tall sunflower that Fanwood artist Jean Rosen has designed for the library lobby. The Children’s Department will offer young visitors coloring opportunities to show their support.

The benefits for joining are many. Card-carrying Friends members receive discounts at fifteen local merchants, first pick at the book sale, and free DVD rentals.

Residents may join the Friends online (fanwoodlibrary.org/friends), at the library, or by mailing in the newsletter form scheduled for delivery to every household in early April.

The Fanwood Friends raises money for and distributes funds to the library for the MuseumPass and other programs, for equipment, and for materials beyond the library’s budget. Membership dues and the fall book sale are the two main sources of the Fanwood Friends funds.
