The 2018-19 flu season runs through March and this year’s strain is expected to be particularly virulent. The Fanwood Board of Health, in association with the Westfield Regional Board of Health, would like to remind area residents that there is still time to get their annual influenza vaccination – the shots are widely available and often covered by insurance. Visit www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/current.htm for additional information and a tool for locating area clinics. The Westfield Board of Health can assist Fanwood residents without insurance for a nominal fee by calling (908) 789-4070.

Please note: Flu shots take a time period to be fully effective. Please discuss this time period with the medical professional performing your vaccination.
