(Fanwood, NJ) – Overcast skies and a few rain droops did not stop families from attending Fan WOOF Day Sunday morning at the North Side Train Station. The event, which has become an annual tradition in Fanwood, featured DJ Mike playing tunes, a stuffed animal adoption table, kids activities, and a visit from Bluey and Paw Patrol, the two main puppy characters from the animated show Bluey. The highlight of the morning was a costume parade and contest.

Following the parade prizes were awarded for Most Creative, Best in Show, Matching costumes, Prettiest, Silliest, Cutest, Scariest, and Honorable Mention.

Fan WOOF sponsors included Fanwood Memorial Library, K-9 Resorts, Dog Den, and Creative Twist Events.

Mayor Colleen Mahr attended the event along with Councilwomen Erin McElroy Barker and Gina Berry and Councilman Jeff Banks.

The Westfield Regional Board of Health, of which Fanwood is a member town, was on hand to offer free COVID test kits.
