(Fanwood, NJ) — Fan Woof Day took place Sunday at the North Side Train Station under bright sunny skies after being rescheduled from August 18th due to rain. The event, which is becoming an annual tradition in Fanwood, featured a DJ, splash zone for pets and kids alike, a K-9 table, a pet caricaturist, Dog and Puppy stories and books by the Fanwood Memorial Library, and a pet adoption event by the Plainfield Area Humane Society.
Paw Patrol characters Chase and Marshall were available for photos. Mayor Colleen Mahr and Councilwoman Erin McElroy Barker posed for pictures with dogs and their families. The highlight of the day was the dog costume parade, which was judged by Mayor Mahr, Library Director Dan Weiss, and McGinn Elementary School Teacher Amanda Russo Marchira. All nine entrants received prizes. Categories included Fun in The Sun, Best Matching Outfits, Best Halloween, Prettiest, Silliest, Funniest, Most Creative, and Awesome Entry.
Fan Woof was sponsored by K-9 Resorts, Fanwood Animal Hospital, the Fanwood Memorial Library, Fanwood Fire Department, Nerf Dog, the Borough of Fanwood and the Plainfield Area Humane Society.
