(Fanwood, NJ) — Music and classic car enthusiasts and families turned out Sunday for Fanwood Summer Fan Jam at La Grande Park, an event that began in 2017. The fun, held from 11 am to 7 pm, featured live bands, classic cars, food trucks, a Kids’ Zone area and a Beer and Wine Garden sponsored by Crossroads of Garwood.

Throughout the day the stage featured Theatrical Artist’s Prep, a Scotch Plains-based performing artists school; Higher Ground, playing rock, blues, gospel, and country music; Bluegrass band Duck Foot; Grateful Dead tribute band Strangers Stopping Strangers, and acoustic guitarist and vocalist Robert Matarazzo.

FanJam also included nearly a dozen food trucks selling everything from Greek cuisine to lobster rolls to chicken wings and of course ice cream, as well as vendors selling goods and services and crafts, Kids floatable rides, and 25 classic cars courtesy of Galloping Hill Cruisers and Hot Rod Mike, who served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Mayor Colleen Mahr, Councilwoman Gina Berry and Councilman Anthony Carter attended Fan Jam and greeted attendees throughout the afternoon. The Fanwood Department Public Works crew kept the park clean of trash, while police officers patrolled the event. The Fanwood Rescue Squad was there with a table as was members of the Fanwood Volunteer Fire Department.

FanJam is an event of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce of which Fanwood is a member.
