The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning  until 10 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2024 for our region and may be extended into Wednesday, July 17. This means the combination of temperatures in the upper 90s plus high humidity will create “feels like” temperatures of 100 degrees or more.

We urge everyone to check in on seniors and other vulnerable individuals to make sure they stay cool. Take it easy during outdoor activities taking frequent breaks for shade and water.

Anyone in need of cooling may call Fanwood Police at the non-emergency number, 908-322-5000, and they will arrange for you to go to our cooling facility at the Carriage House.

Our public health officials at the Westfield Regional Health Department have this information on being vigilant for heat-related illnesses. Click here for information.
