Elizabethtown Gas is about to begin a major upgrade of its underground gas mains in Fanwood. Beginning in mid-late February, weather permitting, the project will begin in Fanwood’s southwest quadrant on the following streets:
· Belvidere Ave
· Burns Way
· Carsam Street
· Chetwood Terrace
· Coriell Avenue
· Cray Terrace
· Crest Lane
· Helen Street
· Herbert Avenue
· MacDermott Place
· Marian Avenue
· Robin
· 2nd Street
· Terrill Road
· Vinton Circle
Residents of these streets should already have received a letter to let them know their streets will be excavated and that crews will need access to their gas meters. Part of this project is to move indoor gas meters outside to make them easier to read and for better access during emergencies. As with our recent upgrades of water mains and residential services, the project will replace aging pipes with new ones, including the service lines from the main to each home.

UPDATE: Elizabethtown Gas is adding more streets to its gas main replacement project. In addition to the previously announced replacements in the town’s southwest quadrant, main replacement will also take place on Shady Lane, Poplar Place, Beech Avenue, Klaniecki Place, Winfield Terrace and Clement Place.
