Inline imageMark Hillringhouse is a published poet, essayist, and photographer whose works have been widely exhibited in area galleries. His photography and writing have been published in The American Poetry Review, The Literary Review, The New York Times, The New Jersey Monthly, The Paris Review, and in many other journals, books, anthologies and magazines. He was the founding editor of The American Book Review, and a contributing editor for The New York Arts Journal.  Thrice nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and a three-time recipient of a New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship, he won the 2024 Allen Ginsberg Award for poetry and his recent book, Talking All Night, a collection of his interviews, letters and photographs with the poets of the “New York School” was published last year by Serving House Books.

Linda Hillringhouse was a first-place winner of the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Award (2014) and second-place winner of the Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry (2012). Her work has appeared in LipsNew Ohio ReviewPaterson Literary Review, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. She has received fellowships from the Macdowell Colony, Yaddo, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2020 and 2021. Her book of poetry, The Things I Didn’t Know to Wish For, was published by New York Quarterly Press in 2020 and shortlisted for The Eric Hoffer Book Award Grand Prize in 2021. Hillringhouse is also a self-taught painter. She has shown her work at the Hamilton Club Gallery, Paterson; Newark Museum; Paterson Museum; Yale School of Art, among other venues.

 

The Patricia M. Kuran Arts Center (Carriage House) is located at 135 Watson Road Fanwood, NJ  07023. Admission is free and all are invited to bring and read a poem of their own in the open reading following the feature.
