The borough council will hear a presentation at its Monday, February 5 agenda meeting on a concept plan for the second phase of improvements at Forest Road Park as prepared by a civil engineering firm retained by the borough.

A survey was sent last Friday through a special e-blast on what residents would like to see in the next phase of improvements at the park. See survey here . Survey input is requested by February 5.

Fanwood completed the first phase of improvements at Forest Road Park in 2021, which included a new basketball court, two new pickleball courts, new landscaping and benches.

Due to the poor condition of the existing tennis courts and lack appropriate drainage, the borough is considering their removal, installation of drainage improvements and expansion of the playground area with new equipment. The borough is preparing a grant application to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Green Acres for partial funding of these improvements.

Residents are invited to attend that meeting and offer their comments. The begins at 7 pm in the Council Chambers at Borough Hall, 75 N. Martine Ave, Fanwood, NJ.
