A singer-songwriter and an acoustic-rock trio will close out the fall season of the Fanwood Performance Series at the Carriage House on Saturday night, November 14.
Scott Krokoff is making a return appearance, having played in June 2022 to revive the series after a pandemic hiatus. The New York songwriter, singer and guitarist weaves elements of folk, rock and country-pop into compelling Americana-style songs, with personal and relatable lyrics. He is a regular performer around the metro area, and has performed live throughout Europe.
Locally based trio Strikes and Gutters is a relatively new group, consisting of close friends who have been making music together for the past 10 years. Dave Handler, Evan Siegel and Brian Celardo bring their strong songwriting, easy chemistry and shared love of ’70s sounds to their music. They blend influences ranging from folk and blues to classic rock and modern indie.
Celardo was one of the founders of the Fanwood Performance Series in 2009 – and one of its first performers.
Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at the Patricia M. Kuran Cultural Arts Center (a.k.a. the Carriage House), at 135 Watson Road just west of Martine Avenue, next to Fanwood Borough Hall. The suggested donation for admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors – cash at the door.
Seating is limited, so those planning to attend are urged to make reservations by emailing fanwoodperformance@gmail.com with the number of seats requested.
The volunteer-run Fanwood Performance Series is a presentation of Mayor Colleen Mahr and the Fanwood Borough Cultural Arts Council. It is made possible in part by a HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of County Commissioners.
