Did you know cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year? On Friday, February 7 Fanwood will celebrate the American Heart Association’s Wear Red Day to raise awareness about heart disease in women.  Wear Red Day and Go Red for Women were created to promote women’s heart health literacy. This initiative aims to equip women with useful knowledge to promote greater cardiovascular health and a greater quality of life. You can learn more about women’s hearth health at goredforwomen.org.

On Friday, February 7 the Borough of Fanwood will be joining other municipalities in New Jersey to turn the state red by shining a red light on Borough Hall .

On Thursday, February 6 from 5 – 7 p.m., the Fanwood and Scotch Plains community are invited to the Women’s Healthy Heart Social at The Chelsea at Fanwood. The event will include blood pressure checks, wine & cheese, vendors and more. There is a $10 suggested donation that will benefit the Fanwood Rescue Squad.
