The Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library will host its 33rd  Fall Book Sale from September 19 to 22, 2019. Donation days begin September 13.

Browsers at the sale easily find books by subject matter: history, romance, classics, art, cookbooks, politics, crafts, science, parenting, children, and general fiction. In addition to hardbacks and paperbacks, the Friends collect DVDs and CDs, but not toys or games.

President Carol Campell said, “We are looking to top last year’s total of $12,000. With all the amazing participation—from donors to buyers to volunteers—it could happen, and every penny rolls right back into the library!”

The funds collected from the sale work hard for Fanwood residents. They enable the library to offer culturally rich family programs and electronic materials—from MuseumPass discounted tickets to the kids’ summer reading program, and e-tablets to teen book clubs. Entrepreneurs, home workers, students, and seniors have come to rely on the audiovisual system, electronic devices, and fireside furniture provided by book sale funds.

To join the fun and volunteer, contact fmlbooksales@gmail.com.

The Friends book sale could not succeed without the quality and quantity of materials provided by residents. However, the Friends will no longer accept videotapes or books that are damaged, mildewed, or significantly out of date. Any unsaleable items will be returned to the donor. Leftovers will go to authorized organizations and clubs specifying book type. For questions, contact friends@fanwoodlibrary.org or 908-377-9270.
