NJDEP Fertilizer Law – In 2011, the State of NJ signed into law one of the most restrictive fertilizer content standards in the nation.  The goal of the law was to reduce the impacts of fertilizers on waterways.  The law prohibits consumers from spreading fertilizer containing nitrogen or phosphorus from Nov. 15 through March 1. The law also prohibits fertilizer application during or just before heavy rainfall, or onto frozen ground.  To learn more about how you help, go to: http://www.nj.gov/dep/healthylawnshealthywater/.
