Members of the Fanwood Green Team will have a table set up during the opening ceremony of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood MLK Day of Service where they will have a collection of Lego bricks to be donated to First Book for kids in need. The opening ceremony, which begins at 10 am, will be held at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA. Founded in 1992, First Book, based in Washington, D.C., is dedicated to ensuring that all children, regardless of their background or zip code, can succeed by removing barriers to equitable education. Used Lego bricks can be dropped off at Fanwood Eye Care, Rocko’s Ice Cream, and The Goddard School. Only used Lego’s will be collected. Please do not drop off sets or building instructions.
