UPDATE: Vaccine Finders!

Dianne Howarth, Senior Citizen Director for the Borough, has identified resources to assist with securing a COVID-19 vaccination appointment. If you are having difficulty navigating through the many appointment websites, please feel free to contact Dianne at dhowarth@fanwoodnj.org. She will help match you with a willing volunteer to work on your case.

If you have already signed up with a similar program, please do not sign up here too. Duplication of this effort does not double your chances.

The State COVID-19 Vaccination program is underway, with a goal to vaccinate 70% of the adult population – or 4.7 million adults – within six months. Vaccinations will be delivered in a phased program.

Pre-Register for COVID-19 Vaccine

The website to pre-register for the vaccine is live www.covidvaccine.nj.gov/

This will allow the general public to pre-register for eligibility, and allow them to input their personal, contact, health insurance, and demographic information. It will also allow for individuals to schedule an appointment for those who are immediately eligible based on screening questions. While vaccination is encouraged, no one will be forced to receive the vaccine.

Currently, vaccines are available to paid and unpaid healthcare workers, residents and staff of long-term and congregate care facilities, first responders including sworn law enforcement and fire professionals, individuals over 65, and individuals 16-64 with certain medical conditions as defined by the CDC will be eligible. These conditions include:

  • Cancer
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
  • Down Syndrome
  • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
  • Obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30 kg/m2 or higher but < 40 kg/m2)
  • Severe Obesity (BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2)
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Smoking
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Individuals who are pregnant and those in an immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant are also eligible but should follow CDC guidance and first discuss vaccination with their medical provider before receiving the vaccine.

Beginning March 15th, the following groups will be eligible to book vaccine appointments:

  • Pre-K to 12 educators and staff
  • Childcare workers
  • Transportation workers
  • Additional public safety workers
  • Additional high-risk individuals

Beginning March 29th, additional frontline essential workers will be eligible to book vaccine appointments.

If you are eligible but have not yet been notified about available appointments in the NJ Vaccine Scheduling System, there are additional ways to get vaccinated:
